Our New Dentist – Calum Tevendale

Calum TevendaleI would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the newest addition to the Chartwell Dental family, and I am delighted to be given this opportunity to be part of the team that is dedicated in providing an excellent standard of service and upholding the practice name as one of the very best in Glasgow.

With having a strong family connection to Bearsden, it has always been a desire of mine to return to the area to work, and I feel very privileged to be joining such a well established practice, that is held in such high regard. It is my hope that I am able to continue to the good work and enhance the excellent reputation that has made the practice a cornerstone of the local community.

Since graduating in 2012 with honours from Glasgow, I have continued to develop my own clinical practice in general practice, working through in Edinburgh for a few years before returning to Glasgow. This has led to my wife and I successfully running our own mixed NHS and private practice for the past three years.

I have been dedicated to my further training, with successful completion of my exams with the Royal college of Glasgow, and subsequently that of the Royal college of London, and I am currently working towards my Masters degree in Restorative Dentistry, with the view to delivering the very best of care to my patients. In addition, I have been lucky enough to be selected to train and teach newly qualified graduates, passing on the knowledge and skills that I have learnt, to the future generation of dentists.

Outside my commitment to dentistry, I have always enjoyed my sport. Although perhaps my best days are behind me, I do enjoy playing football, and still continue to try with a local amateur team based in the Bearsden area, after playing semi-professionally for a number of years. I am also a keen golfer, and love my skiing holidays. However, it is the newest addition to our family, our 6 month old son, who has definitely taken over most of my free time!

All that is left to say is that I am looking forward to getting started in Chartwell, and to meeting you all in due course.
